So...that title is cheesy but it rings true. It's a new year (duh), I have some new projects in the works (more on that later), and a new blog (another on a short list of blogs I already don't update enough).
New Year:
It is a new year and I couldn't be happier. 2008 wasn't a bad year for me; I visited Chicago and New York City for the first time (times?), discovered some cool places to be in Nashville and had an all-around decent time. BUT...I had some friends who had rough 2008s. For them alone, I'm glad it's 2009.
New Projects:
2008 was not a good year in which to look for a new job. 2009 isn't looking any better, yet. I've decided that means it's a great time to further my education and set some new career goals. In March I'll be starting a course in Broadcast Journalism at CSB School of Broadcasting. It's kind of a crash course in broadcasting and I'm really excited. It's something my mother always thought I had a knack for and dangit, she was right. I'd love to work for CNN or a humanitarian agency and report on issues most Americans have no experience with.
New Blog:
I'm sporadically crafty. I'm trying to be more purposeful about it but my creative streak is so inconsistent. I was recently really blessed when my friend Anna wore some hairpins I made in her wedding. They were gloriously feathery and beaded but classy and I must admit, she looked amazing. I also tend to repurpose or rework my clothes once I get bored with them. The purpose of the new blog is to help me organize and chronicle my creations. Milovely is the title, miladymilovely.blogspot.com is the address.
That's my update for now. Vows aside, I sincerely hope to update more often. See you soon!
